“Staying here felt like home away from home, which is everything you can hope for when travelling, I believe. Also, the location is superb! Just a short stroll away from the rather touristy old town. My stay at House Hostel was very positive overall. I did find the room for backpackers a bit crowded and stuffy. It's really for those only staying short term and for people who only have small bags. But the larger room for two people is excellent, the common living room is spacious and beautiful, the kitchen has all the needed facilities, and the security is great! The hostel staff were all excellent friends. I met Austin. He genuinely cares about the residents, and he is more than willing to accommodate them. The other staff members, too, were very helpful in giving advice and information about Riga. It was a very memorable stay overall! William Risch, USA | Male | |

I had a really good time at this hostel. Karlis is lots of fun and knows a lot about Riga. The kitchen is fully equipped, there are good bathrooms, a great common area and nice dorms. We went as two girls on a long weekend and loved staying here! Would totally recommend it to people wanting something other than the standard generic hostel. A great place to stay if you want to be a little bit outside the old town and get to know the ace bars and coffee shops that are less touristy! Also really homely and a good laugh, a bit like having your own cool flat in riga for the weekend - and carlis who runs the hostel is ace :) rebeca_bouch9154, England | Female |

This was a my first hostel visit in Latvia. The House is one of the best i\'ve been in. Karlis the manager is legendary! The place was clean and well maintained. A very friendly atmosphere. The kitchen is spacious. And the location is primo. Walking distance to everything. The only thing that sucked was that I could not stay longer...Cheers to Karlis and the House Crew!! A great place to stay. Karlis the manager was aces. After a mix up in booking, he upgraded me to a single for no extra cost. Really close to the Old Town and other sites and right around the corner from all the other backpacker necessities: train/bus station,supermarket,cheap places to eat,etc. Highly recommend.

If you're looking for high in roof type of living room with funky well-used furniture with a touch of futurism and a little bit of decadence- you've come to the totally right place. The staff are very willing to stretch to give you info and even company in the town of Riga. Young team../ Worth the money just for the info and openess.
